Ubiquitous AI Announces Roadmap for SILS Tool to Strongly Support SDV Development — Shortening and Streamlining Verification Periods for SDV and Autonomous Driving Software Built on In-Vehicle Ethernet —

Ubiquitous AI Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Yuta Oyoshi; hereinafter "Ubiquitous AI") today announced its development roadmap for "GSIL," a Software-in-the-Loop (SILS) software verification tool, targeting support for Software Defined Vehicles (SDV). This roadmap was formulated in response to the challenges faced in development sites, based on the recognition that, as the implementation of SDV and autonomous driving progresses in earnest, the very approach to in-vehicle software verification is changing. As a next-generation verification platform for in-vehicle software development, GSIL will achieve both improved quality and development efficiency in highly reliable systems such as autonomous driving, contributing to reductions in development time and cost.

Market Environment and Development Background

With the advancement of SDV, automobiles are undergoing a major shift from hardware-centric configurations to platforms whose functions are defined and updated by software. One of the foundational technologies supporting this change is in-vehicle Ethernet. As CASE trends and E/E architectures evolve, and as the shift toward configurations centered on zonal architectures and central gateways progresses, in-vehicle communication increasingly requires high-bandwidth, low-latency, IP-based communication, driving the expanding adoption of in-vehicle Ethernet in place of conventional bus-based communication.

At the same time, as vehicle operation premised on software updates becomes standard, the importance of in-vehicle software verification continues to grow. In particular, for distributed and centralized hybrid systems premised on in-vehicle Ethernet, ensuring quality through conventional hardware-based testing alone is difficult, making software simulation that can verify behavior — including communication — from the early stages of development essential.

    Supporting next-generation architectures that demand high bandwidth and low latency, premised on the Ethernet communication being standardized for SDV.
  2. Enhanced Comprehensive Automated Testing Capabilities
    Automatically generating test cases that cover a wide range of communication conditions and abnormal scenarios, enabling efficient verification of the high reliability required for SDV.
  3. Support for Linux Environments
    Expanding use into Linux environments, which have high affinity with CI/CD, to streamline automated testing and advance development workflows.

Application to the Embedded Device Field

The virtual execution and automated testing capabilities of GSIL are also effective in the development of embedded devices such as industrial equipment and edge devices. Leveraging the results of technology development primarily focused on SDV support, Ubiquitous AI will expand its scope of application beyond the automotive field to embedded devices in general going forward.
